The Officers and Members of Chinchilla Hose Company of South Abington Township would like to express our prayers and condolences to the Victims and Families who were affected by the Tragedy at the Boston Marathon.

Established in 1956, the Chinchilla Hose Company has been serving our area for over 50 years. Located on Shady Lane Road in South Abington Township, our main station houses Fire, Rescue and Ambulance services. Station 2-A is located on Fairview Road and houses a single engine. Responding to over 1,200 fire, rescue and EMS calls per year, our 40 or so dedicated volunteers work to protect the township and surrounding areas as firefighter, emergency medical technicians, or both.

It takes a special person to fill the boots of a volunteer firefighter. Someone with a desire to do something important for the community. Someone with courage and dedication, who isn't afraid of hard work, and is willing to accept the challenge of a difficult job. It takes a person who considers respect and appreciation reward enough and who is glad to help. We have a very special demand for individuals living or working in this area. The Officers and Members of Chinchilla Hose Company would like to express our condolences to the Philadelphia Fire Department on the Line of Duty Death of Capt. Michael Goodwin. Capt. Goodwin was killed on Saturday April 7 when he fell through a collapsed floor during interior operations at a structure fire. Rest Easy Brother

The Officers and Members of Chinchilla Hose Company would like to express our condolences to the Binghamton Fire Department after the Death of Firefighter John Janos while on duty at his station. Firefighter Janos died on Saturday April 7. Rest Easy Brother
